JUST IN: 4.4-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate on Saturday, Nov. 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 5 kilometers northeast of Pio V. Corpuz at 11:04 a.m. Depth of focus was 12 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were felt: Intensity I- Legazpi City; Masbate City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

3.7-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental on Saturday, Nov. 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 107 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso at 7:18 a.m. Depth of focus was 46 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

PMA: Negligence of two swimming instructors resulted in cadet’s death

(Eagle News) — There was negligence on the part of two Philippine Military Academy swimming instructors that resulted in the death of  Cadet Fourth Class Mario Telan Jr., the military school said on Friday, Nov. 22. At least four cops hurt in clash with suspected NPA rebels in Palawan

(Eagle News) — At least four policemen were wounded in a clash with suspected New People’s Army rebels in Palawan, the police said on Thursday, Nov. 21. The Mimaropa police said the clash between members of the 1st and 2nd Police Mobile Force Company took place in Barangay Maasin, Brooke’s point. Authorities are still probing the incident.
