(Eagle News)–A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Davao del Sur on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 8 kilometers southeast of Kiblawan at 3:54 a.m. Depth of focus was 13 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were felt: Instrumental Intensity: Intensity II – Alabel, Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato Intensity I – General Santos City; Koronadal City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News) — A building collapsed in Padada, Davao del Sur after 6.9 magnitude quake struck Davao del Sur on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2019. The entire ground floor was crushed, including the vehicles parked underneath the building. Other structures in the town were also damaged including a public market as seen in the photo below. Roads and other infrastructure were also damaged by the strong quake.

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani early Sunday, Dec. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 18 kilometers southeast of Malapatan at 2:47 a.m. Depth of focus was 16 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News) — A yellow rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Visayas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Samar and Eastern Samar are under the alert, which means flooding is possible in low-lying areas. Landslides in mountainous areas are also possible. PAGASA said light to moderate rains are being felt in Cebu, Camotes Island, Bohol, Southern Leyte, Negros Oriental and Biliran.
