Classes in Batangas colleges, universities outside Taal’s 14-km danger zone to resume tomorrow, Jan. 23

(Eagle News) — Classes in Batangas colleges, technical and vocational schools, and universities outside Taal’s 14-kilometer danger zone will resume on Thursday, Jan. 23. Governor Hermilando Mandanas said in a memorandum signed on Wednesday, Jan. 22, that the decision was made after consultation with  the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. 3.2-magnitude quake hits Pangasinan

(Eagle News)– A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Pangasinan on Wednesday, Jan. 22. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 11:15 a.m., had its epicenter 96 kilometers southwest of Agno. Depth of focus was 33 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Chinese tourist dies as motorbanca capsizes off Boracay

(Eagle News) — A Chinese national died while several others were injured after a motorboat capsized off Boracay on Tuesday, Jan. 21. (Eagle News)-A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:27 a.m., had its epicenter 15 kilometers northeast of Naujan. It had a depth of focus of 17 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

(Eagle News)-A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Monday, Jan. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 12:31 p.m., had its epicenter 78 kilometers northwest of Palauig. It had a depth of focus of 15 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)-A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Monday, Jan. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology  said the quake, which hit at 5:43 a.m., had its epicenter 26 kilometers northeast of General Generoso. Depth of focus was 16 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

DOTr eyes completion of Bicol International Airport by July 2020

(Eagle News)–The Department of Transportation is eyeing the completion of the Bicol International Airport by July 2020, with over 62 percent of the structure completed.
