PCG: No-sail policy still in effect in Visayas region

(Eagle News)–The no-sail policy remains in effect in the Visayas region. This was the clarification issued by the Philippine Coast Guard following erroneous reports that sea travel in Bohol and Cebu has resumed. 3.8-magnitude quake hits Cagayan

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Cagayan on Friday, April 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 8:27 a.m., had its epicenter 44 kilometers northwest of Claveria. It had a depth of focus of 20 kilometers. An instrumental intensity II was recorded in  Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Caloocan and other areas. Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Bulacan and other areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers  are also expected over Rizal and Quezon within the next hours. Lightning and strong winds are also possible. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.   Keep monitoring for updates.

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Batanes early Thursday, April 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:12 a.m., had its epicenter 21 kilometers southwest of Sabtang. It had a depth of focus of one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Rainfall advisory hoisted over parts of Aurora

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over parts of Aurora. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light to moderate to at times heavy rains are being experienced over Baler, Maria Aurora, and San Luis. PAGASA said these may persist within one to two hours and may affect nearby areas. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards,” PAGASA said.  

3.7-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Wednesday, April 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 2:37 a.m., had its epicenter 350 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 2 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
