(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Thursday, April 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 1:46 a.m., had its epicenter 251 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 53 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

3.5-magnitude quake hits S. Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Leyte on Wednesday, April 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 12:08 p.m., had its epicenter 11 kilometers northeast of Hinunangan. It had a depth of five kilometers. Intensity I was recorded in Surigao City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

DOTr: 584 seafarers to return to their provinces under Balik-Probinsiya program

(Eagle News)–Over 500 seafarers are set to return to their respective provinces under the government’s Seafarers Balik Probinsiya program, the Department of Transportation said. The DOTr said the 584 seafarers were as of April 28. The first batch was composed of 305 seafarers, and the second of 279. (Eagle News)–A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Eastern Samar today, April 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 7:12 a.m., had its epicenter 53 kilometers northeast of Hernani. It had a depth of 56 kilometers.
