(Eagle News)–The Philippines has registered its first cases of the BA.2.12.1 Omicron subvariant in Metro Manila and Palawan. According to the Department of Health, the two local cases from Metro Manila had no international travel history and were from the same cluster. The Philippine economy grew stronger than expected in the first quarter, officials said Thursday, as the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions and the start of the election campaign season ignited consumer spending.
