Portion of building in Makati collapses; no one hurt

(Eagle News) — A portion of a condominium building in Makati collapsed on Thursday, April 30. In an interview, Makati Mayor Abby Binay said no one was hurt after a portion of the Jazz Residences on Nicanor Garcia St. collapsed at 10:50 a.m. The cause of the collapse has yet to be determined. Some media reports said, however, that an explosion was heard in the building beforehand. Authorities are still probing the incident.  

At least six die in Tondo fire

(Eagle News)–At least six people, including two minors, died after a fire hit a residential area in Manila on Thursday, April 30. Four people were also hurt in the fire that hit  the corner of Tioco and Herbosa streets at 6:37 a.m. The fire reached the first alarm and was put out at 7:52 a.m. Authorities have so far yet to determine the cause of the blaze and the damage to property.

MIAA releases list of operational commercial flights for Thursday, April 30

Manila mayor orders 48-hour hard lockdown of Tondo 1 district where mass COVID-19 testing would be done

(Eagle News) – Following the lockdown of Sampaloc district, the Manila city government has announced that the entire Tondo 1 district will be placed under hard lockdown this weekend due to rising COVID-19 cases. Las Piñas confirms 147 COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News)–The number of coronavirus disease 2019 cases in Las Piñas has risen to 147. The local government said on Wednesday, April 29, Barangay Talon Dos still registered the most cases, with 21 cases. QC gov’t: Qualified families not included in SAP to receive P4000 each

First COVID-19 patient at Women’s Correctional passes away

Another inmate who died tests positive for COVID-19 (Eagle News)–The first COVID-19-positive case at the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong has passed away. The Bureau of Corrections said based on a report it received, the 72-year-old woman passed away on Monday, April 27. The patient was hospitalized on April 13 after exhibiting symptoms of pneumonia. 38 RITM employees recover from COVID-19

(Eagle News) — Thirty-eight of the 45 staff members of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus have recovered. COVID-19 cases in Las Piñas reach 130

(Eagle News)–The number of coronavirus disease 2019 cases in Las Piñas has reached 130. The local government said based on City Health Office data, of the 130, 14 have recovered while nine have died.
