(Eagle News)–Former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez, who was convicted of the rape and murder of two University of the Philippines Los Baños students, may be released soon following deductions from his prison time for good conduct. The National Expenditure Program was given to Senate President Tito Sotto by Acting Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado. Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Zambales, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon within the next 2 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration. PAGASA advised residents to take precautionary measures “against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.” The weather bureau also urged residents to monitor for updates.
