(Eagle News)–The Senate has received a copy of the proposed P4.1-trillion national budget for 2020.

The National Expenditure Program was given to Senate President Tito Sotto by Acting Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado.

Also present were Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, Senate Finance committee chair Edgardo Angara and Senator Panfilo Lacson.

The government operated on a reenacted budget for the first few months of this year due to an impasse in Congress.

The P3.1-trillion budget for 2019 was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte in April.
