Palace: President Duterte has already given instructions to ensure safety of people within perimeter of Taal

(Eagle News)-President Rodrigo Duterte has already given instructions to ensure the people within the perimeter of Taal are out of the danger zone. Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo added concerned agencies of the national government were now working closely with the Provincial Government of Batangas to ensure the safety of the residents, including their evacuation. (Eagle News)-These pictures of Taal Volcano were taken by Eagle News correspondents from different areas. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has raised an alert level 3 over the volcano, which generated a 1-kilometer-high plume and a volcanic tremor. Earthquakes were felt in the volcano island and Agoncillo in Batangas. PHIVOLCS has recommended an evacuation from the volcano island and Agoncillo and Laurel in Batangas.  

4.1-magnitude quake hits Antique early Sunday, Jan. 12

(Eagle News)-A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Antique early Sunday, Jan. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake took place at 2:51 a.m. The epicenter was 18 kilometers northwest of Patnongon, with depth of focus at 4 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.3-magnitude quake rocks Sarangani

(Eagle News)-A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani on Saturday, Jan. 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake at 11:29 a.m.had its epicenter 18 kilometers northwest of Malungon. Depth of focus was 29 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was felt in  Malungon. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

JUST IN: 4.1-magnitude quake hits Albay

(Eagle News)-A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Albay on Saturday, Jan. 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake took place at 9:17 a.m. Its epicenter was located 22 kilometers northeast of Rapu Rapu. It had a depth of focus of 23 kilometers. The following intensities were recorded: Intensity III – Legazpi City Intensity II – Bulusan, Sorsogon No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.6-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental waters early Saturday

(Eagle News)-A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental waters early Saturday, Jan. 11 The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which took place at 1:16 a.m., had its epicenter 422 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. Depth of focus was 79 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Antique  on Friday, Jan. 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 7:42 a.m., had its epicenter 23 kilometers northwest of Caluya. Depth of focus was one kilometer. An instrumental intensity II was felt in Malay, Aklan. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

PHIVOLCS: 4.1-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental on Wednesday night

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Wednesday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS said the quake, which hit at 9:43 p.m., had its epicenter 98 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. Depth of focus was 68 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Malungon, Sarangani. No damage to property  nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Negros Oriental on Thursday, Jan. 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which took place at 1:26 a.m., had its epicenter 17 kilometers northwest of Dauin. Depth of focus was 4 kilometers. The quake had an instrumental intensity II in Sibulan, Negros Oriental. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
