(Eagle News)–A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Sulu early Saturday, May 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 2:07 a.m. It had its epicenter 291 kilometers southeast of Banguingui. The depth of focus was 577 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.7-magnitude quake hits Sarangani early Tuesday, May 25

PHIVOLCS: 5.5-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News) — A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Sunday, May 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 10:02 a.m. It had its epicenter 235 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. Depth of focus was 113 kilometers. The following instrumental intensity was reported: Intensity I -Kiamba, Sarangani According to PHIVOLCS, no damage to property was reported but aftershocks were.

PHIVOLCS: No quakes at Taal in 24 hours but rising plumes monitored; alert level 2 stays

(Eagle News) — No volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Taal in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the upwelling of hot volcanic fluids in the lake of the volcano, which remains on alert level 2, however, generated plumes that reached 1.5 kilometers tall. PHIVOLCS says quiet emission of steam plume monitored at Taal

(Eagle News) — A quiet emission of a steam plume was monitored at Taal. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the emission at the volcano, which remains on alert level 2, “began intermittently” at 11p.m.  on May 20 with the onset of rains. (Eagle News) — Over 100 earthquakes were monitored at Taal in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the 169 quakes at the volcano, which remains on alert level 2, included 30 low-frequency volcanic earthquakes and 139 volcanic tremor events with durations of two to  20 minutes. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 3:55 a.m. It had its epicenter 20 kilometers northwest of Sindangan. The depth of focus was one kilometer. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the 102 quakes at the volcano, which remains on alert level 2, included 16 low-frequency volcanic earthquakes and 86 volcanic tremor events with durations of one to 22 minutes, and low-level background tremor that has persisted since April 8.
