Over P40 million worth of marijuana destroyed in Kalinga: PNP

(Eagle News) — Over P40 million worth of marijuana plants were destroyed in Kalinga on Thursday, Aug. 26, the Philippine National Police said. According to the PNP,  the 203, 500 fully-grown marijuana plants were found in five different sites in Barangay Loccong. (Eagle News)–More than P7 million worth of marijuana bricks were seized in Kalinga following a tip from a concerned citizen. The Philippine National Police said the P7.8 million worth of illegal drugs were about to be transported from Kalinga to Cagayan when seized. (Eagle News) — Authorities destroyed marijuana plants worth P28 million in Kalinga province recently. In a statement, the PNP said the 110,000  fully-grown marijuana plants, estimated to be worth P22 million, and 50,000 grams of marijuana stalks worth P6 million were burned down by authorities in the plantation in Barangay Loccong in Tinglayan Municipality. (Eagle News) — Umakyat na sa labing limang katao ang nasawi sa nangyaring aksidente sa Barangay Dao-Angan, Balbalan, Kalinga, Apayao. Karamihan sa mga ito ay senior citizens.
