Gov’t repatriates 157 Filipinos from Bahrain, Macau
(Eagle News)–The government has repatriated over 150 Filipinos from Bahrain and Macau amid since Saturday, May 16. Based on data from the Department of Foreign Affairs, of the 157 repatriated, 14 were from Bahrain and 143 from Macau. (Eagle News)–The total number of Filipinos abroad who have recovered from COVID-19 has breached the 500 mark, as additional recoveries were reported from the Americas and Europe. (Eagle News)–Two Filipinos have died due to the coronavirus disease 2019 abroad, the Department of Foreign Affairs said. According to the DFA, the deaths were reported in the Asia-Pacific Region and Europe. Of the 169 Filipinos who were reported to have contracted the virus abroad, 111 were reported in the Asia-Pacific region, 18 in the Middle East, 20 in Europe and 20 in the Americas. QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Thousands of Filipinos will be affected by US President-elect Donald Trump’s “America First” policy. According to analyst Professor Ramon Casiple, Filipinos working in the USA – whether legally or illegally – will be the ones to be first affected by Trump’s policy.
