(Eagle News)–Four volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Kanlaon in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said also monitored at the volcano, which remains on alert level 1, were steam and sulfur dioxide emissions. PHIVOLCS said the emission of white steam-laden plumes that rose 200 meters was moderate. Sulfur dioxide emission was at an average of 656 tons on October 13. A slight inflation of the lower and mid slopes since June 2020, […]

Kanlaon still on alert level 1 as PHIVOLCS monitors 9 volcanic quakes, sulfur dioxide emission
(Eagle News)–Nine volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Kanlaon in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said also monitored at the volcano, which remains on alert level 1, was sulfur dioxide emission, which was measured at an average of 656 tons on October 13. A slight inflation of the lower and mid slopes since June 2020, and an inflation on the lower to mid slopes that began on June 21 “may indicate hydrothermal […]
PHIVOLCS: 26 volcanic quakes, weak steaming monitored at Taal in 24 hours; alert level 1 stays
(Eagle News)–Twenty-six volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Taal within 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. According to PHIVOLCS, weak to moderate steaming was also observed from the vents on the main crater of the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. The steam, which rose 50 meters high before drifting northeast, southeast, and southwest, was also observed in fissure vents along the Daang Kastila trail. (Eagle News) — Twenty volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Taal within 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said on Sunday, Aug. 23. According to PHIVOLCS, weak steaming rising five meters was also observed from the vents on the main crater of the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. PHIVOLCS reminded the public, however, that “sudden steam-driven or phreatic explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas” […]
PHIVOLCS hoists Alert Level 1 over Bulusan volcano in Sorsogon
(Eagle News) — Bulusan is now on alert level 1, which means it is in an “abnormal condition.” The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Monday, July 6, said the volcano’s alert level was raised from 0 after 53 volcanic earthquakes were recorded since July 3, and a “short-term inflation of the edifice” was recorded since late February. PHIVOLCS said the quakes included 43 low-frequency events that are “associated with weak and shallow hydrothermal […]
PHIVOLCS: Quakes, moderate plume emission monitored at Kanlaon; volcano still on alert level 1

PHIVOLCS said of the earthquakes at the volcano, which remains on alert level 1, 16 were volcano-tectonic earthquakes on the western flanks and four volcanic earthquakes in the summit area. They were observed within 24 hours. The moderate emission was of white steam-laden plumes that rose 300 meters. Sulfur dioxide emission was […]
