(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Saturday, January 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:48 a.m., had its epicenter 12 kilometers southwest of Calatagan. It had a depth of 135 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were reported: Intensity I – Calatagan, Batangas; Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Plaridel, Bulacan No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 8:30 a.m., had its epicenter 10 kilometers southwest of San Luis. It had a depth of three kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 25 kilometers southeast of San Juan at 10:39 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 7 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Thursday, May 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 20 kilometers southwest of Calatagan at 11:39 a.m. The earthquake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 129 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
