Thunderstorm advisory raised over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Pangasinan (Angadanan), and in Quirino (Aglipay) and Aurora (Dipaculao, Dilasag and Casiguran) within 30 minutes to an hour. Brazil approves final tests of J&J virus vaccine

REIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AFP) — Brazilian health regulators said Tuesday they had approved Johnson & Johnson’s experimental vaccine against the new coronavirus for the final stage of clinical trials, the fourth vaccine to receive widespread testing in the hard-hit country. 5.2-magnitude aftershock hits Masbate early Wednesday

(Eagle News)–A 5.2-magnitude aftershock struck Masbate early Wednesday morning. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, hit 12 kilometers southeast of Cataingan at 5:50 a.m. It had a depth of six kilometers. No damage to property was expected but aftershocks were. Earlier, PHIVOLCS had said a strong aftershock of the 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck Cataingan on Tuesday, Aug. 18, was possible.
