DFA repatriates 17 Filipinos from Myanmar

In a statement, the DFA said the Filipinos arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Nov. 3 via a  special relief flight from Yangon to Manila. DFA welcomes Saudi Arabia’s move to abolish Kafala system for migrant workers

3.5-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur early Saturday

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Saturday, Nov. 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 1:36 a.m., had its epicenter 42 kilometers southeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of 15 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

Seven more COVID-19 cases reported (Eagle News)–There has been no additional COVID-19 fatality among overseas Filipinos. The Department of Foreign Affairs said the COVID-19 death toll among Filipinos abroad therefore remains at 828. Seven additional COVID-19 cases, however, pushed the total to 11417. Recoveries remain at 7364 as no additional recovery has been reported. (Eagle News)–Forty more police personnel have recovered from COVID-19. The Philippine National Police said with the recoveries, the total rose to 6936 as of Friday night.
