4.9-magnitude quake jolts Davao Occidental

(Eagle News) — A 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Occidental on Monday, December 28. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:13 a.m., had its epicenter 269 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 57 kilometers. PHIVOLCS: No tsunami threat to PHL following 6.8-magnitude quake off Chile

(Eagle News) — There is no tsunami threat to the Philippines. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued the advisory following a 6.8-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Central Chile. The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the earthquake struck off the coast of Los Lagos on Sunday, Chile time. It had a depth of 10 kilometers. There were so far no reports of casualties.  

4.1-magnitude quake hits Batangas
