3.0-magnitude quake hits N. Cotabato early Tuesday, July 16

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck North Cotabato early Tuesday, July 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 15 kilometers southwest of Makilala at 12:54 a.m. The quake, PHIVOLCS said, was an aftershock of the 5.6-magnitude quake that hit the province on July 9. An Intensity III was felt in Kidapawan City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 74 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 4:55 a.m. The depth of focus was 12 kilometers.
