Red, yellow alerts in effect over Luzon grid today, June 21

(Eagle News) — Red and yellow alerts are in effect over the Luzon grid today, June 21.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said the red alert, which means there is a generation deficiency, is hoisted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The yellow alert, on the other hand, which means reserves do not meet the required minimum levels, is in effect from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Available capacity is at 11,002 megawatts, while peak demand was at 11,191 MW.

“Details on the cause (will) be announced by the Department of Energy (DOE) later in the day,” the NGCP said.
