(Eagle News) – Police have arrested a security guard who shot and killed a 15-year-old student inside his classroom in Calamba, Laguna.
The suspect identified as Renz Ivan Valderama was arrested before 4 a.m. on in Barangay Pansol, Calamba, Laguna.
The suspect, also known as Renando Valderama, shot the student in the head at around 12:30 p.m. after entering his classroom, even when there were other students around.
He immediately escaped after the shooting incident.
The suspect was able to enter the Castor Alviar National High School in Masili, Calamba City by climbing the school’s barricade as revealed by CCTV footage, shot the victim in the head.
The victim had earlier claimed the suspect had sexually abused him from March to June this year. The student filed a case against him on July 1.
Valderama was jailed in 2017 for theft, according to the Calamba City police.
The students who witnessed the shooting are now undergoing psychological debriefing.
