4.6-magnitude quake hits Cotabato

(Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Cotabato on Thursday, Oct. 31. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 25 kilometers northeast of Tulunan at 5:30 a.m. Depth of focus was 19 kilometers. The following intensity was reported: Intensity V – Kidapawan City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon due to the easterlies affecting the eastern section of the country. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rains are affecting portions of Isabela, particularly Palanan and Ilagan; Mt.Province, particularly Paracelis; Kalinga specifically in Tanudan; and in Apayao, in Conner and Kabugao. LTFRB dismisses 14 employees from Bicol office for alleged corruption

Regional director, two others suspended (Eagle News)–The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has dismissed 14 employees from its Bicol regional office due to alleged corruption. The LTFRB said also suspended from  the  Regional Franchising and Regulatory Office Region V were Director Vladimir Kahulugan, and employees Andres Tabunda and Arnel Sabello. (Eagle News)–A 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck Cotabato on Tuesday, Oct. 29,  the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS earlier said the quake that hit 26 kilometers northeast of Tulunan at 9:04 a.m. was a 6.3-magnitude one. In its upgraded advisory, PHIVOLCS said the earthquake hit 25 kilometers southeast of Tulunan. PHIVOLCS said it had a depth of focus of seven kilometers. 3.9-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 282 kilometers southwest of Sarangani at 2:43 a.m. Depth of focus was 246 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
