Yellow rainfall warning hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A yellow rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao due to a low pressure area embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the warning, which means heavy rains are expected, is up over Jose Abad Santos, Don Marcelino, Malita in Davao Occidental and in  Glan, Malapatan, Alabel in Sarangani.

Flooding in flood-prone areas is expected.

Light to moderate rains are being experienced in Claveria in Misamis Oriental, Baungon, Manolo Fortich, Malaybalay, Lantapan, Cabanglasan, San Fernando in Bukidnon, Butuan City, Las Nieves, Remedios T. Romualdez in Agusan del Norte;  Esperanza, San Luis, Loreto in Agusan del Sur; Mati City, Gov. Generoso;  Carmen, Antipas, Arakan in North Cotabato; Lanao del Sur; Dumingag, Midsalip, Bayog, Lakewood in Zamboanga del Sur;  Payao, Imelda, Diplahan, Buug in  Zamboanga Sibugay; and in Zamboanga City.

PAGASA said these may persist within one to two hours.
