3.8-magnitude quake hits Sorsogon

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Sorsogon on Thursday, April 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:44 a.m., had its epicenter 2 kilometers northwest of Magallanes. It had a depth of 18 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 10:01 a.m., struck 66 kilometers southeast of Sabtang. The depth of the quake was measured at 8 kilometers. NLEx Corp. releases list of toll plazas on NLEx, SCTEx

(Eagle News)–The Northern Luzon Expressway has released its list of toll plazas on NLEx and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway amid the enhanced community quarantine. NLEx Corp. said the list was as of Wednesday, April 15: NLEx Corp. said it would issue another advisory if there were changes. The ECQ, which is aimed at containing the coronavirus disease 2019, is expected to end on April 30.

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Tawi-Tawi on Monday night. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 10:22 p.m., had its epicenter 420 kilometers southeast of South Ubian. It had a depth of three kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Oriental Mindoro. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in the province. PAGASA said these may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.

ECQ in Samar province extended until April 30

(Eagle News) — The  enhanced community quarantine in Samar is extended to April 30. This was after Samar Governor Reynolds Michael Tan signed Executive Order No. 22, a copy of which was uploaded on Facebook on Monday, April 13. (Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Antique on Monday, April 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 9:22 a.m., had its epicenter 18 kilometers northwest of Patnongon. It had a depth of focus of five kilometers. Instrumental I was recorded in San Jose de Buenavista, Sebaste and Culasi. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
