4.2-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental early Friday, May 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 2:55 a.m., had its epicenter 59 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso. It had a depth of 134 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

PHIVOLCS: No tsunami threat to PHL following strong quake off Pacific

(Eagle News)–There is no tsunami threat to the Philippines. This is according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, which issued the  advisory after a strong earthquake hit Santa Cruz Islands in the Pacific on Wednesday, May 13 (Philippine time). PHIVOLCS said the quake had a magnitude of 6.6 but the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre pegged it at 6.6. The EMSC said the depth was 129 kilometers.  

4.2-magnitude quake jolts Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Tuesday, May 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 10:29 p.m., had its epicenter 23 kilometers northeast of San Isidro. It had a depth of 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental on Tuesday, May 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 7:33 a.m., had its epicenter 87 kilometers northeast of Baganga. It had a depth of 2 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Taal update: Nine volcanic quakes recorded, volcano still on alert level 1

(Eagle News)–Nine volcanic earthquakes were monitored in a 24-hour period at Taal, which remains on alert level 1. 4.0-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 8:18 a.m., had its epicenter 431 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 33 kiometers.
