4.0-magnitude strikes off Eastern Samar

(Eagle News) — A 4.0-magnitude struck off Eastern Samar on Wednesday, Nov. 9. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake hit 106 kilometers northeast of Mercedes. It had a depth of focus of 39 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

3.9-magnitude earthquake strikes off Eastern Samar early Sunday

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Eastern Samar early Sunday, June 12. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake hit at 12:59 a.m. The epicenter was 8 kilometers northwest of Jipapad. The depth of focus was 27 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was reported in Borongan, Eastern Samar. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.2-magnitude quake hits E. Samar early Thursday

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Eastern Samar early Thursday, July 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the quake, which hit at 3 a.m., was  74 kilometers northeast of San Policarpio. Depth of focus was 22 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.1-magnitude quake hits E. Samar early Wednesday, July 29

(Eagle News) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Eastern Samar early Wednesday, July 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 2:34 a.m., had its epicenter 17 kilometers southwest of Maydolong. It had a depth of 32 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Palo, Leyte. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Eastern Samar today, April 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 7:12 a.m., had its epicenter 53 kilometers northeast of Hernani. It had a depth of 56 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Eastern Samar on Thursday, May 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the 6.5-magnitude quake that hit the province on April 26, struck 77 kilometers northeast of San Julian at 2:38 p.m. The depth of focus was 36 kilometers. Intensity I was felt in Borongan City. PHIVOLCS said no damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Phivolcs upgrades Eastern Samar quake to magnitude 6.5

  (Eagle News) — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) upgraded to magnitude 6.5 the quake that hit Eastern Samar earlier Tuesday afternoon, April 23, which it had earlier recorded at magnitude 6.2.
