4.7-magnitude quake hits Borongan, Eastern Samar

(Eagle News)– A magnitude-4.7 earthquake struck Borongan City in Eastern Samar early Friday morning. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit  23 kilometers east of Borongan at 1:20 a.m. The earthquake, of tectonic origin, had  a depth of 20 kilometers. It was felt at Intensity IV in Borongan City.

4.0-magnitude earthquake hits eastern Samar

(Eagle News) — A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Samar on Saturday, the Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS said the quake hit 56 kilometers northeast of San Policarpo at 3:45 a.m. The depth of focus of the earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was at 5 kilometers. There were no reported aftershocks.
