3.7-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Saturday, July 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 6 kilometers southwest of San Francisco at 5:43 a.m. An intensity IV was felt in Surigao City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Iceland expresses hope PHL will cooperate in UN probe into drug war

Percentage of families who consider themselves as poor slightly rises in latest SWS survey

(Eagle News)–Forty-five percent of families consider themselves as poor, a recent Social Weather Stations survey found. The SWS said this was  up by 7 percentage points from the record-low 38%, or an estimated 9.5 million families in March 2019. The pollster said  rise in the proportion of Self-Rated Poor families comes after a 14-point decline over the previous three quarters.
