Tugade signs order allowing hatchbacks to operate permanently as TNVS units

(Eagle News)–Transportation Secretary Art Tugade has signed an order  permanently allowing hatchbacks and sub-compact cars as transport network vehicle service units.

Transport Assistant Secretary Goddess Libiran made the announced on Friday, July 19.

Earlier, a Department of Transportation release said Tugade directed the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to implement Memorandum Circular 2018-005 that allows accredited hatchback units to operate as public transport.

The memorandum, however, allows them to operate only  for three years and in Metro Manila.

“Implement the existing MC until such time that the same is modified and/or amended,” Tugade had said.
