DFA repatriates over 8,000 more overseas Filipinos

(Eagle News)–Over 8,000 Filipinos abroad were repatriated by the Department of Foreign Affairs last week. The DFA said with the 8831 more repatriated, the  total number of repatriated overseas Filipinos rose to 254,785 since the start of repatriation efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic in February. Japan exits recession as GDP grows 5.0% in Q3

PNP reports 34 more COVID-19 recoveries

(Eagle News)–Thirty-four more police personnel have recovered from COVID-19. The Philippine National Police said with the additional recoveries, the  recovery tally rose to 7240 as of 6 p.m. of November 15. Forty-eight additional COVID-19 cases pushed the tally to 7677. Of these, 413 were active. No additional deaths were reported, which means the death toll remains at 24.   (Eagle News) – The death toll due to Typhoon Ulysses which lashed Luzon has reached 69, as those affected by the typhoon reached 1.1 million individuals, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). PHIVOLCS: No tsunami threat to PHL following strong Surigao del Sur quake

(Eagle News)–There is no tsunami threat to any part of the country. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued the advisory after it said a 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Monday, Nov. 16. PHIVOLCS said  the quake struck at 6:37 a.m. It had its epicenter 11 kilometers northwest of San Agustin, and a depth of 58 kilometers. Intensity V was felt in Bislig City. Damage to property and aftershocks are expected.

Northeast monsoon affecting N. Luzon; rest of PHL affected by easterlies

(Eagle News)–The northeast monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the easterlies are also affecting the rest of the country.
