4.0-magnitude quake strikes off Sarangani

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Sarangani on Monday, June 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 12:30 p.m. It had its epicenter 84 kilometers southwest of Kiamba. The depth of focus was 480 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

DOH reports 5,249 more COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News) — COVID-19 cases in the Philippines reached 1364239 on Monday, June 21, after the Department of Health reported 5429 additional cases. According to DOH data, of the total, 55847 were active. Of these, 91.4 percent were mild, 4.1 percent asymptomatic, 1.3 percent critical, 1.9 percent severe, and 1.32 percent were moderate. Strong earthquake shakes New Zealand’s Kermadec Islands

HONG KONG, China (AFP) — A magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook the area around New Zealand’s Kermadec Islands early Monday, the US Geological Survey reported. The quake, which struck at 1705 GMT Sunday, had an epicenter located 938 kilometers northeast of Ngunguru, on New Zealand’s North Island, at a depth of 10 kilometers, the USGS said.
