(Eagle News) — The enrollment of students in public schools from June 1 to June 30 will be done primarily remotely, the Department of Education said on Thursday, May 28.
According to DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla, students will be contacted by their previous advisers for this.
“At ang atin pong ieentertain, again through remote and with strict physical distancing and minimum health standard, ay yung mga bagong dating po kagaya ng Kinder, transferees at yung mga estudyante na nagkaroon ng movement..,” she said.
She said the agency will design its “learning continuity plan” based on the results of a survey online and via text message given to parents, who will specify the mode of delivery they prefer.
“Ito po yung mga learning delivery modalities kagaya ng online learning, distance learning, blended learning o even yung mga pagbigay ng modules papunta sa kanilang mga bahay,” she said.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said it was “useless” to talk about the opening of classes without a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Palace later clarified this meant no face-to-face classes shall take place without such.
It said the start of enrollment for students in public schools in the country will proceed as planned on June 1.
