3.3-magnitude quake jolts southern Leyte
(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck southern Leyte on Tuesday, Feb. 26. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 37 kilometers southwest of Limasawa at 7:20 a.m. The quake had a depth of focus of 11 kilometers. No aftershocks nor damage was expected.
Brick of cocaine found off Aurora waters
(Eagle News)–A brick of cocaine estimated at P6.3 million was found off the waters of Aurora on Saturday, Feb. 23. The police on Monday, Feb. 25, said the cocaine was found by a local fisherman in Dingalan, who reported the find to the police. According to the police, the brick was wrapped in plastic and sealed with rubber tape. The cocaine has been sent to the Crime Lab to undergo testing.
