DOJ: Trece Martires, Cavite Mayor De Sagun cleared of involvement in vice mayor’s murder

(Eagle News)–The Department of Justice has cleared Trece Martires, Cavite Mayor Melandres De Sagun of the murder of Vice Mayor Alexander Lubigan. Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said the complaints for murder against Luis Abad Jr. and Ronel Bersamina were also dismissed. 5.1-magnitude quake jolts Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Occidental on Tuesday, Feb. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 88 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 4:01 p.m. Depth of focus was 48 kilometers. According to PHIVOLCS, an Intensity I was  felt in Kiamba and Alabel in Sarangani. PHIVOLCS said aftershocks were possible.

PNP identifies 701 “election hotspots”

(Eagle News)–The Philippine National Police has identified 701 election hotspots, as the campaign period for candidates seeking national posts kicked off on Tuesday, Feb. 12. According to PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde, the figure represents 42 percent of the country’s 1,634 cities and municipalities. 5.0-magnitude quake jolts Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Saturday, Feb. 9, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. According to Phivolcs, the quake hit 173 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan at 5:47 a.m. It had a 47-kilometer depth of focus and was tectonic of origin. No damage was expected.
