NPA frees six hostages in Agusan del Sur

(Eagle News) — The New People’s Army has freed six hostages in Agusan del Sur.

The six, who were being held captive since December last year, were released in Bayugan City in Agusan del Sur on Thursday, Feb. 14.

They have been turned over to the 401st Infantry Brigade in Purok 12-A, Poblacion, Sibagat.

President Rodrigo Duterte ended peace talks with the Communist rebels in December last year following what he said were their atrocities that included the killing of a baby and the killings of soldiers even when peace talks were ongoing.
