(Eagle News)—A Maguindanao town mayor who was in President Rodrigo Duterte’s narco-list has been arrested by authorities.
But Mayor Norodin Franco Salazar of Datu Salibo was arrested not for his alleged illegal drug activities but over murder charges.
He was arrested by the police upon his arrival at the Cotabato airport.
Duterte first revealed the names on his narco-list in public in 2016.
Upon his assumption in office, he also revealed the names of then-current and former Philippine National Police officials allegedly engaged in illegal drug activities.
The list included former Quezon City Police District director Edgardo Tinio, former National Capital Region Police Office director Joel Pagdilao, then-Daanbantayan, Cebu Mayor Vicente Loot, former PNP deputy director Marcelo Garbo and Chief Supt. Bernardo Diaz, former head of the Western Visayas police.
