3.4-magnitude quake hits Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit five kilometers southwest of Capoocan at 8:55 a.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. The following intensities were reported: Intensity III- Capoocan & Carigara, Leyte Intensity II- Kananga, Jaro & Leyte, Leyte No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

LTO opens district office in Basco, Batanes

(Eagle News)—The Land Transportation Office has opened a district office in Basco, Batanes. The Department of Transportation said since it started operations on Thursday, Oct. 10, 17 licenses were produced by the office in Barangay Kayvaluganan. Certificates of registration and official receipts were also issued. (Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Sultan Kudarat on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 15 kilometers southwest of Columbio at 7:07 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake was 26 kilometers.
