In these photos, fire can be seen engulfing the Gaisano Mall in General Santos City after the 6.3 magnitude quake that hit North Cotabato on Wednesday night, Oct. 16, which was felt at intensity 5 in General Santos City. The video below taken by Eagle News Service correspondent in General Santos City, Marigold Soriano, shows firemen as they try to put out the fire at the said mall in General Santos City.

JUST IN: 5.5-magnitude quake hits Sultan Kudarat

(Eagle News)–A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck Sultan Kudarat on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake in N. Cotabato, hit 16 kilometers southeast of Columbio at 8:09 p.m. Depth of focus was 5 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Basilan on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 74 kilometers southeast of Tuburan at 2:59 a.m. Depth of focus was three kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.2-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 126 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 9:37 a.m. Depth of focus was 33 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light to moderate rains are expected over Cagayan, in Alcala, Amulung, Baggao and  Gattaran. (Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck North Cotabato on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 12 kilometers southeast of Tulunan at 7:55 a.m. Depth of focus was five kilometers. The following intensities and instrumental intensities were recorded: Intensity II- Kidapawan City Instrumental Intensities: Intensity III- Kidapawan City Intensity I- Tupi, South Cotabato No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over Zambales, other areas

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Zambales and other areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are also expected over Tarlac and Pampanga within the next two hours. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
