5.0-magnitude quake hits Cotabato

(Eagle News)–A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Cotabato on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake in the province on  Oct. 16, hit 27 kilometers southeast of Tulunan at 6:52 a.m.

Depth of focus was 12 kilometers.

The following intensities and instrumental intensities were recorded:

Intensity IV – Kidapawan City
Intensity III – Tupi, Koronadal City and Tampakan, South Cotabato
Intensity II – General Santos City

Instrumental Intensities:

Intensity IV – Malungon, Sarangani; Koronadal City, South Cotabato
Intensity III – Kidapawan City; General Santos City; Alabel, Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato;Davao City
Intensity I – Kiamba, Sarangani

No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
