Manila gov’t to implement curfew for minors “in full blast” starting today, Sept. 2

(Eagle News)–The Manila government is  intensifying a curfew policy for minors in the city. The Manila Public Information Office announced this on its Twitter account on Monday, Sept. 2. The PIO said according to Mayor Isko Moreno, the curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. will be implemented “in full blast” starting today. The PIO did not say what the sanctions would be for violators.

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over M. Manila, other areas

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Metro Manila and nearby areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said apart from Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Laguna, Batangas, Tarlac, Cavite, Bulacan and Rizal will experience moderate to heavy rainshowers with  lightning and strong winds within the next 2 hours. (Eagle News)–The once-waste-ridden Estero de Binondo in Manila is waste-ridden no more. This picture posted on the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission Facebook page shows the clean creek reflecting the skies and buildings, something that seemed impossible with the amount of trash in its waters before. Cleanup efforts were led by the PRRC, along with volunteers.

Duterte signs law requiring schools to provide “neutral desks” suitable for both left-handed, right-handed students
