ITCZ affecting Southern Mindanao: PAGASA

(Eagle News)–The Intertropical Convergence Zone is affecting Southern Mindanao. According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms as a result. The rest of the country will have the same conditions. Flashfloods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms are possible, PAGASA said. PAGASA said the whole country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

Philippines reports 1,232 additional COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News)–The Philippines reported 1232 additional COVID-19 cases. According to the Department of Health, with the additional cases, the tally rose to 4,016,401. Of these, 17675 were active. The DOH said of the total cases, Metro Manila had the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks with 2,831 cases. Philippine economic growth accelerates by 7.6% in third quarter of 2022

PSA revises second quarter economic growth to 7.5%

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Statistics Authority has revised the country’s second-quarter economic growth. In a statement, the PSA said second quarter gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 7.5% instead of the 7.4% it earlier announced. SC: 9,821 expected to take 2022 bar exams

(Eagle News) — The Supreme Court on Tuesday, Nov. 8, said over 9000 candidates are expected to take the 2022 bar exams. According to the High Court, of the 9,821, 5,947 will be taking the exam for the first time. Over 3,000–or 3,974—will be taking the exam for the second time. NDRRMC: Reported fatalities due to “Paeng” now at 158

(Eagle News) — The number of reported fatalities due to “Paeng” has risen to 158. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council,  of the number, 63 fatalities were reported in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), 36 in Western Visayas and 33 in Calabarzon. Several Manila roads temporarily closed for bar exams
