A statement from the Supreme Court said Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta made the suspension “in the interest of everyone’s health and safety” as ashfall due to Taal reached several cities in Metro Manila. (Eagle News)-The number-coding scheme is lifted for all vehicles tomorrow, Jan. 13. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority suspended the scheme after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology upgraded the alert status of the volcano. The volcano is currently on alert level 4, which means a hazardous eruption is imminent. PHIVOLCS has recommended an evacuation from the volcano island and additional areas within a 14-kilometer radius of the volcano.
