(Eagle News)-A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Sunday, Jan. 12.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 6:53 p.m., had its epicenter 18 kilometers northeast of Cortes.
It had a depth of focus of 28 kilometers.
The following intensities and instrumental intensities were recorded:
Intensity: Intensity II – Cagwait, Surigao Del Sur
Instrumental Intensity: Intensity II – Surigao City
No damage to property was recorded but aftershocks were expected.
