(Eagle News)-Classes at all levels in Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Region 3 are suspended on Monday, Jan. 13.
A statement from the Office of the Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said government work in those areas was also suspended except for ” frontline response agencies involved in disaster response, delivery of basic and health service, and/or other vital services.”
“The private sector is highly encouraged to suspend work for the safety of their employees,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the suspension was as recommended by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and to ensure safety.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has raised an alert level 4 over Taal volcano , which means an explosion was imminent.
