Alarm level 2 raised over Marikina River

(Eagle News)–An alarm level 2 has been hoisted over the Marikina River. This was after water levels breached the 16-meter mark. Under an alarm level 2, residents are required to prepare for evacuation. Rains continued to pound parts of the country even with “Ompong” weakened as it moves off the coast of Laoag in Ilocos Norte as of 11 a.m.

PCG: Over 4,800 passengers stranded in ports due to “Ompong”

(Eagle News) — Over 4,800 passengers have been stranded in different ports across the country due to Typhoon “Ompong.” Below is a list of stranded passengers posted by the Philippine Coast Guard in its Facebook account as of 8 a.m.: The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Ompong” will make landfall over northern Luzon on Saturday, but its effects will be felt as early as Friday, Sept. 14.
