(Eagle News)-A 4.0-magnitude quake struck Batangas on Monday, Jan. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 9:07 a.m. , had its epicenter 3 kilometers southwest of Laurel. It had a depth of focus of 7 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was recorded in Tagaytay City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has raised an alert level 3 over the volcano, which generated a 1-kilometer-high plume and a volcanic tremor.
