3.7-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 10:58 a.m., had its epicenter 71 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 64 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.5-magnitude quake hits Laguna

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Laguna on Monday, Feb. 17. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:21 a.m., had its epicenter eight kilometers southwest of San Pablo. It had a depth of focus of 4 kilometers. The following intensities were recorded: Intensity IV – San Pablo City; Malvar, Batangas No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

PHIVOLCS: 4.6-magnitude quake struck Batanes on Saturday

(Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said in its its bulletin on Sunday, Feb. 16, that the quake struck at 1:57 p.m. It had its epicenter 93 kilometers southwest of Sabtang. Depth of focus was 3 kilometers. The following intensities were recorded: Intensity III -Sabtang, Ivana and Uyugan, Batanes Intensity II – Basco and Mahatao, Batanes No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.1-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental early Sunday

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude quake hit Davao Occidental early Sunday, Feb. 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 12:50 a.m., had its epicenter 334 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude quake hit Davao Occidental on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:45 p.m., hit 247 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 70 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.3-magnitude quake hits Southern Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Leyte on Thursday night. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said on Friday, Feb. 14, that the quake, which hit at 9:25 p.m., had its epicenter 10 kilometers northeast of Sogod. Magnitude 6.9 quake shakes Kurilsk, Russia

(Eagle News) — A magnitude 6.9 quake shook Kuril’sk, a town in Russia, on Thursday, Feb. 13, at UTC 10:33 or 6:33 p.m. Manila time. The quake was 142.6 kilometers deep and its epicenter was recorded 92 kilometers east northeast of Kuril’sk, Russia, according to the United States Geological Service (USGS). It is also located 370.1 kilometers southwest of Nemuro, Hokkaido, Japan. There were no immediate reports of damage.    

3.0-magnitude quake hits Occidental Mindoro

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 8:45 a.m., had its epicenter 32 kilometers northwest of Lubang. Depth of focus was 32 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was recorded in Olongapo city. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.0-magnitude quake hits Catanduanes

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Catanduanes on Monday, Feb. 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 7:55 a.m., had its epicenter 12 kilometers northwest of Pandan. Depth of focus was 22 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Alert level 3 still hoisted over Taal; quakes, emissions continue

  (Eagle News)–An alert level 3 remains hoisted over Taal volcano as it continues to spew steam-laden plumes and sulfur dioxide, and its seismic activity continues. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the weak emission of steam-laden plumes rising 20 to 50 meters high took place in the last 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 1:15 a.m., had its epicenter 108 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. It had a depth of focus of 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded .

3.0-magnitude quake jolts Occidental Mindoro

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 2 a.m., had its epicenter 40 kilometers of Paluan. It had a depth of focus of 7 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
