4.2-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Saturday, Oct. 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 5:35 a.m., had its epicenter 284 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 262 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.    

4 quakes, sulfur dioxide emission monitored at Kanlaon; alert level 1 still in place

(Eagle News)–Four volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Kanlaon in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said sulfur dioxide emission was also monitored at the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. PHIVOLCS said the sulfur dioxide emission was measured at an average of 1,236 tons on  October 1. 3.7-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Thursday, Oct. 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 4:53 a.m., had its epicenter 130 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. It had a depth of 29 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.2-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Norte on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:40 a.m., had its epicenter 67 kilometers southeast of General Luna. It had a depth of one kilometer and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks.

4.4-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 9:22 p.m., had its epicenter 71 kilometers northeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of seven kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.6-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur; PHIVOLCS says quake is aftershock of 5.7-magnitude quake on Sept. 27

(Eagle News) — A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 2:41 p.m., was an aftershock of the 5.7-magnitude quake that hit the area on Sept. 27. The 3.6-magnitude quake had its epicenter 71 kilometers northeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of 18 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.0-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Norte on Monday, Oct. 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:35 p.m., had its epicenter 46 kilometers northeast of Burgos. It had a depth of 21 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

(Eagle News)–A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Occidental Mindoro early Monday, Oct. 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 2:16 a.m., had its epicenter 31 kilometers southeast of Looc. It had a depth of 121 kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said steam and sulfur dioxide emissions were also monitored at the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:19 a.m., had its epicenter 45 kilometers northeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of 19 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
