Recto backs more funds for MMDA for creation of “active night brigade”

MMDA lifts number-coding scheme for today, Aug. 12

(Eagle News)–The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has lifted the number-coding scheme today. The MMDA made the confirmation in responding to the inquiries of motorists on its official Twitter account. The Palace declared today a regular holiday in celebration of the Muslims’ Eid’l Adha. With the MMDA’s confirmation, vehicles whose plate numbers end in 1 and 2 are  allowed to ply Metro Manila streets from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Number-coding scheme lifted effective 3 p.m. today

(Eagle News)–The number-coding scheme is lifted effective 3 p.m. today, Aug. 9. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority made the announcement via Twitter, amid the inclement weather brought about by an enhanced southwest monsoon. Earlier, the Palace suspended work in government offices and classes in Metro Manila. The memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said the suspension was effective 3 p.m. The MMDA said the number-coding scheme, however, still applies in Makati.

Senate sets probe into Edsa gridlock to Tuesday, Aug. 13

LTFRB to appeal QC court order vs Edsa provincial bus ban

(Eagle News)–The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board will appeal a Quezon City court’s order to temporarily halt the planned Edsa provincial  bus ban. The LTFRB said for this, it will seek the help of the Office of the Solicitor General. In the meantime, the agency said it would comply with the writ of preliminary injunction issued by Branch 223. Manila mayor Moreno says he will ban e-tricycles in the city

MMDA suspends dry run of provincial bus ban along Edsa

(Eagle News)–The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has suspended the dryrun of the provincial bus ban on Edsa. MMDA Jojo Garcia said the suspension was pending a meeting with  the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). “We will continue with the dry run once the guidelines and implementing rules have been ironed out by the three agencies involved,” Garcia said in a statement.
