(Eagle News)–The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has lifted the number-coding scheme today. The MMDA made the confirmation in responding to the inquiries of motorists on its official Twitter account. The Palace declared today a regular holiday in celebration of the Muslims’ Eid’l Adha. With the MMDA’s confirmation, vehicles whose plate numbers end in 1 and 2 are allowed to ply Metro Manila streets from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority made the announcement via Twitter, amid the inclement weather brought about by an enhanced southwest monsoon. Earlier, the Palace suspended work in government offices and classes in Metro Manila. The memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said the suspension was effective 3 p.m. The MMDA said the number-coding scheme, however, still applies in Makati.
