Mayon Volcano shows new activity

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded new activity in the Mayon Volcano including two volcanic quakes and crater glow. Alert level 3 remains raised in the vicinity of the volcano.

Farmers affected by Mayon danger zone defy ban to harvest crops

Legazpi City, Albay (Eagle News Service)— Albay residents affected by the evacuation being implemented around the Mayon volcano’s seven to eight kilometer extended danger zone asked that they be allowed to enter their villages just to harvest their vegetables and other crops planted within the danger area. Mayon volcano enters “critical stage” as crater glow is observed

Quiet lava flow noted in Mayon volcano

(Eagle News Service) — At least two volcanic quakes were recorded in Mayon Volcano in the last 24 hours after a “quiet eruption” occurred last Sunday where lava flow of about 350 meters long was recorded by volcanologists.
